Knife instead of textbooks: student attacked a classmate at school

In Kropyvnytskyi, May 14, 2026, a conflict between students took place at one of the schools, which ended in a stabbing. According to preliminary information, the quarrel occurred between 9th-grade students in the classroom before the lesson began, when the teacher was absent. This was reported by the Kirovohrad region police.

During the conflict, one of the teenagers inflicted stab wounds on the other. The injured pupil was urgently hospitalized. He is currently under medical supervision and receiving necessary care.

An investigative-operational team, juvenile police officers and psychologists are working at the scene. Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident and are deciding on the legal qualification of the event.
