In Okhtyrka, a man detonated a grenade during a conversation with police officers; the incident occurred on 10 May and resulted in injuries to five people, including three law enforcement officers.
The Sumy Regional Police reported the incident, publishing details on their official resource on Telegram.
According to law enforcement, a call was received about a man with a grenade on one of the streets of the city of Okhtyrka, after which patrol police officers, a district officer, and an officer from the Police Protection Department arrived at the scene.
During negotiations with the officers, the man activated an explosive device, which detonated.
The offender himself, three police officers, and one civilian were wounded; all the injured were hospitalized.
An investigative-operational group is working at the scene; evidence is being collected and all circumstances of the incident are being established.
