5 people fell ill after visiting an establishment: an infection outbreak is being investigated in Mykolaiv

In Mykolaiv, an outbreak of a gastrointestinal infection was recorded at one of the entertainment establishments. As of May 4, 5 cases of illness have been registered.
This was reported by SE “Mykolaiv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine”.
On May 4, 2026, under the leadership of Acting General Director Dmytro Makarov, an emergency meeting of the Operational Center for Response to Emergencies in the Field of Public Health was held.
During the meeting, a report was heard from the head of the Department of Epidemiological Surveillance and Prevention of Infectious Diseases, Olena Rudenko, regarding the emergence of the outbreak at one of Mykolaiv’s entertainment establishments. The name of the establishment was not specified in the official statement.
The Center reported that the epidemiological investigation has already begun in accordance with the CMU resolution of April 22, 2026 No.505 “Some issues of conducting epidemiological surveillance and carrying out epidemiological investigation of epidemics, outbreaks of infectious and mass non-infectious diseases and emergencies in the field of public health”.
“As part of intersectoral interaction, the relevant services have been informed to coordinate further actions,” – the report says.
