Knife attack during notification: a serviceman at the Territorial Recruitment Center was attacked

In Kharkiv April 6, 2026, during activities to notify those liable for military service, a serious criminal incident occurred. According to the Kharkiv Regional TCC and SP, a civilian carried out an attack on servicemen who were performing their official duties.

As a result of the attack, one of the servicemen received a stab wound to the abdomen. He was promptly taken to a medical facility, where doctors are providing the necessary care. The condition of the wounded person is being clarified. After the attack, the assailant fled the scene. He is currently wanted; law enforcement agencies are taking measures to establish his identity and apprehend him.

The territorial recruitment center emphasized that servicemen who carry out notifications are officials and perform official tasks under martial law. Any attempts to obstruct their activities, insults, resistance, or attacks may have serious legal consequences, including administrative or criminal liability. The agency also urged citizens to act prudently and not to show aggression toward the military. They stressed that such actions are not only violations of the law but can also lead to dangerous consequences for the civilians themselves.

Law enforcement continues to establish all the circumstances of the incident. The perpetrator’s whereabouts are expected to be determined in the near future.
