The director of the national park is suspected of issuing fictitious salaries and granting deferments from mobilization
They are accused of embezzlement during martial law and of obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine; they face 5–8 years’ imprisonment and a ban on holding positions for up to three years
UAH 440 thousand; investigators also uncovered the hiring of three men to obtain deferments from mobilization in Mykolaiv Oblast.
The prosecutor’s office of Mykolaiv Oblast reported on the course of the investigation, releasing details on the social network.
Law enforcement handed a notice of suspicion to the former head of «Biloberezhzhia Sviatoslav» and described a scheme under which a subordinate was kept on paper and forced to hand over part of his salary.
“The suspect, being the director of the national park, fictitiously employed a person who did not actually perform their duties and did not appear at work, yet received a salary, part of which they passed on to him. By such actions the state sustained losses in the amount of more than 440 thousand UAH,”
Separately, the investigation established that the director unjustifiably granted mobilization deferments to three men who were formally added to the park’s staff.
