We bought vodka without any problems, and then the ambulance arrived: how the two teenagers' "outing" ended

A 13-year-old teenager was hospitalized after drinking alcohol; administrative reports have already been filed in the case.

Police of the Mykolaiv region reported on March 26, 2026, about an incident in the Voznesensk district, after which a shop assistant and the parents of two minors were brought to administrative responsibility.

According to law enforcement, on March 25, the duty unit of the Voznesensk District Police Department received information from medics about the hospitalization of a 13-year-old resident of the district. The teenager was taken to the hospital in a state of alcohol intoxication. After medical assistance was provided, his condition was stabilized.

During the inspection, investigators and juvenile police officers established that the boy, together with his 15-year-old friend, purchased a bottle of vodka and a low-alcohol drink in one of the district center’s stores. They consumed the alcohol in a park area. Subsequently, the younger teenager’s condition sharply worsened, which is why he was taken to a medical facility. His friend also drank alcohol but did not seek medical help.

Law enforcement officers identified the retail outlet and the saleswoman who sold alcohol to the minors. An administrative report was drawn up against her under Part 2, Article 156 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses. The sanction of this article предусматривает a fine of up to 800 non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens. Separate administrative materials were also prepared against the parents of the teenagers. The mother of the 13-year-old boy was charged under Part 3, Article 184 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses for improper fulfillment of parental duties. A similar report was drawn up against the parents of the 15-year-old minor who drank alcohol together with his friend. All collected materials will be submitted by law enforcement for consideration by the administrative commission under the executive body of the city council.

Police also remind sellers that in case of doubts about the buyer’s age, they must request a document confirming that the person is already 18 years old. Residents of the region are urged to report to the special hotline 102 any cases of alcohol or tobacco sales to minors.
