Did not admit guilt, received a sentence: court handed down a verdict in a serious case
At the Central District Court of Mykolaiv a verdict was handed down to a local resident who was accused under Part 4 of Art. 152, Part 6 of Art. 152 and Part 1 of Art. 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The case was heard in a closed session under the chairmanship of Judge Serhiy Medyuk. This was reported by the court’s press service on March 26, 2026.
The court found that the man committed sexual violence against a child — the daughter of his partner. In addition, during a search of his residence a combat grenade RGD-5, which he had been illegally storing, was found and seized. The accused did not admit his guilt; however, after examining the case materials the court concluded that his guilt was proven and imposed a sentence of 15 years of imprisonment. The court also fully granted the civil claim of the victim’s representative and ordered the convict to pay 200,000 hryvnias in moral damages.
