In Mykolaiv, military personnel of the Territorial Recruitment Center were detained on bribery charges: for $2,400 they promised to "remove from the wanted list"
They tried to earn money by "disappearing" from the database, but they themselves ended up in the case files
As reported on March 26 2026, the Mykolaiv Oblast Police, law enforcement officers exposed two servicemen of one of the territorial centers for recruitment and social support of Mykolaiv who had organized a scheme to make illegal profits.
According to the investigation, the suspects acted in prior conspiracy and offered a man liable for military service “to resolve the issue” of being removed from the wanted list in the information system “Oberig”. For this they demanded 2400 US dollars, effectively creating conditions for evasion of mobilization. The perpetrators were detained immediately after receiving the second tranche of the illicit benefit in the amount of 1200 US dollars. The detention was carried out by investigators of the investigative department of the regional police headquarters together with the Strategic Investigations Department in Mykolaiv Oblast, the Military Counterintelligence Department of the SBU, and under the procedural guidance of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Defense of the Southern Region.
The suspects, aged 34 and 44, were detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. They have already been notified of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — acceptance of an improper benefit by an official by prior conspiracy of a group of persons. The article’s penalty provides for up to 10 years imprisonment with confiscation of property and a ban on holding certain positions. The court has already imposed preventive measures: one suspect — nighttime house arrest, the other — detention with the right to post bail. The pre-trial investigation continues.
