Firecrackers after the overnight attack: teenagers set them off on school grounds in Mykolaiv
A city resident believes that the administration of School No. 19 should prevent this from happening again
On the grounds of School No. 19 in Mykolaiv, teenagers set off firecrackers after a nighttime attack on the city, according to a complaint submitted by a resident to the Mykolaiv City Council contact center. She said the loud noise continued from morning until midday.
The woman said it stopped only after she shouted from her balcony and threatened to call the police.
The complainant estimated the teenagers were about 11–14 years old. She suggested they might be students at the school, though this has not been confirmed.
What particularly angered the resident was that the firecrackers were set off after the nighttime attack: every loud bang made her flinch again. The city is still dealing with the aftermath of the shelling.
The complainant believes the school administration should take steps to prevent such incidents from happening again. She also stressed the need to monitor the school grounds and suggested that a security guard should be on site.
