The siren in Mykolaiv wailed nonstop, disturbing residents
After the inspection, the alert system is operating normally
A prolonged, continuous siren disrupted residents of Mykolaiv this afternoon, on Friday, October 9. The city’s alert system malfunctioned.
“Together with the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration’s civil protection department and other specialists, we looked into the alert system malfunction. This must not happen again,” said Heorhii Reshetilov, acting head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration.
At the meeting, proposals were presented on how to coordinate the responsible agencies at different levels. The head of the relevant department was tasked with further coordinating this process.
“I instructed the head of the relevant department to coordinate with the military and civil protection agencies and share our proposed approach to organizing the alert process, so that malfunctions do not occur when alert signals are switched on or off. The alert system has now been checked and is operating normally,” Heorhii Reshetilov explained.
