Russian drones injure two young children and a bus driver in Mykolaiv region: what we know about their condition

Two young children injured on October 8, 2026 in a Russian strike on the village of Novokyivka in Mykolaiv Oblast are in satisfactory condition. They are a 3-month-old infant and a 1-year-old child. Both received the necessary medical care and will continue their treatment as outpatients.

The Mykolaiv Oblast Military Administration reported on the victims’ condition and the consequences of Russian attacks in its morning update as of 7:00 a.m. on October 9, 2026.

Strike on Novokyivka: children injured, homes damaged

Russian forces attacked the village of Novokyivka in the Shevchenkove community of Mykolaiv Raion with a Molniya-type drone.

Two young children were injured in the strike. Damage to civilian property was also reported:

• 2 private homes;
• a garage;
• a car.

Drone attacks passenger bus in Lymany

Another Russian strike targeted the Halytsynove community, where enemy forces used FPV drones.

A passenger bus came under attack in the village of Lymany. The strike injured a 66-year-old man. He received the necessary medical care and will continue his treatment as an outpatient.

The bus itself was damaged: its windows were shattered or damaged, and the vehicle’s roof was also affected.

In the neighboring village of Lupareve, which is also part of the Halytsynove community, a Russian attack damaged a car and a commercial property. According to the regional administration, no one was injured there.

Shahed drone attack leaves no injuries

In addition to strikes on settlements in Mykolaiv Raion, Russian forces attacked the region with Shahed-type attack drones throughout October 8.

According to the regional military administration, no damage was reported as a result of this attack, and there were no reports of injuries.
