MiG-29 pilot Marat Mambetov was killed at the front: his aircraft was shot down by an enemy missile
Ejected but did not survive: the flight commander of the "Ghost of Kyiv" was killed in action
October 1, 2026 during a combat mission a Ukrainian military pilot was killed — flight commander of the 40th Tactical Aviation Brigade “Ghost of Kyiv” Captain Mambetov Marat Redvanovich. The Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported his death.
Flying a MiG-29 fighter, he carried out rocket-and-bomb strikes against Russian occupiers on one of the front-line directions. During the combat mission the aircraft was hit by an enemy missile. The pilot ejected but, unfortunately, did not survive.
The report notes that Mambetov Marat Redvanovich was the flight commander of the 40th Tactical Aviation Brigade “Ghost of Kyiv”. Sincere condolences are extended to the family and loved ones of the deceased. The pilot carried out combat missions until the end and defended Ukraine from Russian aggression.
