The music director of a children's camp will be sentenced to 12 years in prison for raping an 11-year-old girl

In Dnipro a court sentenced a 56-year-old local resident who, according to the prosecutor’s office, committed sexual violence against a 11-year-old ward and distributed materials containing child pornography on the Internet. The man was sentenced to 12 years of imprisonment. This was reported on 24 September 2026 by the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, in July 2019 the convicted man worked as a music director at a children’s camp. It was there that he repeatedly committed criminal acts against the 11-year-old charge. According to the prosecutor’s office, the man also video-recorded his criminal actions and then distributed the corresponding materials online. To conceal what he had done, he exerted psychological pressure and threats on the child. Because of this, the victim did not speak about the abuse for a long time. In December 2019 law enforcement officers found one of the videos involving the child online. After that the man was exposed and detained.

During the trial the defendant did not admit his guilt. At the same time, the court agreed with the prosecution’s arguments and imposed a sentence of 12 years of imprisonment. The verdict has already come into legal force.
