Retired foresters receive 8,000 hryvnias for firewood: conditions and required documents
Pensioners with at least 15 years of service in forestry can apply for compensation
Pensioners who previously worked in forestry are provided with compensation in the amount of 8,000 hryvnias for the purchase of firewood for heating. The assistance program operates annually, and the application period is ongoing, so people who meet the established criteria can still apply for the payment.
According to the publication “Focus”, citing the state enterprise “Forests of Ukraine”, more than 10,000 people have already received the compensation since the beginning of the year. The total amount of financial support provided is UAH 82.8 million.
Who can receive compensation for firewood
The assistance is intended for people who have retired and directly worked at the SE “Forests of Ukraine” or at enterprises that later became its successors.
The right to payment also applies to employees who were laid off due to downsizing within two years before reaching retirement age. A condition for this category is registration at the employment center.
In addition, it is necessary to meet the following requirements:
- the residence must be heated by a stove;
- work experience in forestry must be at least 15 years.
Documents may also be submitted by the person who supports the pensioner, if the pensioner himself meets all the conditions for the benefit.
How to submit an application for payment
Pensioners who have not yet received compensation for fuel firewood for the heating season need to apply with a statement and supporting documents. Documents are accepted in person or by mail at the separate primary trade union organizations of the enterprise’s regional branches.
The following must be attached to the application:
- an application in the prescribed form;
- a certificate from the village or city council confirming stove heating or an act of a commission inspection;
- copies of documents that confirm the preferential status and the required work experience;
- a copy of the passport of a citizen of Ukraine;
- a copy of the document with the registration number of the taxpayer’s account card — RNOKPP.
Note that many pensioners in Ukraine had their payments increased by only a few kopecks: it became known why this happened.
