Four people were killed in a minibus: Russians attacked civilian transport again
A morning trip turned deadly: a drone attacked a bus carrying passengers
In the morning of 19 August 2026, Russian forces attacked a route bus with a drone in the Korabelnyi district of Kherson.
The strike occurred at approximately 08:50, while the bus was traveling along one of the city’s streets. This was reported by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin. As a result of the attack, four civilian passengers were killed. Their identities are being established by the relevant services.
Initially, the regional authorities reported four injured women. All the victims were taken to hospital, where doctors are conducting examinations and providing necessary care. Later, the head of the Kherson City Military Administration, Yaroslav Shanko, clarified that the number of wounded had risen to five. A 58-year-old bus driver was taken to hospital with a blast injury. The man is undergoing further examinations.
On the basis of the attack, the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office has opened a pre-trial investigation under Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — the commission of a war crime that resulted in deaths. Prosecutors and investigators continue to record the consequences of the strike and to document the war crime committed by Russian forces. Information about the dead and the condition of the injured is being clarified.
