6 apartments, 3 houses and an Audi: former Air Force logistics commander faces new charges

Former logistics commander of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andriy Ukrainets was notified of a new suspicion of illegal enrichment. According to investigators, during 2020–2025 the serviceman acquired assets whose value exceeds his lawful income by at least 20 million hryvnias. This was reported on 6 August 2026 by the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Ruslan Kravchenko. According to the investigation, a significant number of real estate properties and expensive cars may have been registered to Andriy Ukrainets through close and related persons. These include:

• 6 apartments in Kyiv, Vinnytsia and Zhytomyr;
• 3 residential houses in the Zhytomyr region;
• apartments in Bukovel;
• 6 plots of land;
• 4 cars, including Audi Q7 and Audi Q5;
• garages and other non-residential premises.

The property was formally registered to the serviceman’s parents, son, partner and godfather. However, law enforcement believes that the actual owner and manager of the assets remained Andriy Ukrainets himself. The investigation analyzed the incomes of the suspect and people associated with him but did not establish lawful sources that could explain the acquisition of such a number of properties, land and vehicles.

Under the procedural supervision of prosecutors of the Office of the Prosecutor General, Andriy Ukrainets was notified of suspicion under Art. 368-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — illegal enrichment. He was also served with a motion to apply a preventive measure in the form of detention. As an alternative, the prosecution asks the court to set bail in the amount of more than 21 million hryvnias.

Law enforcement’s interest in the property status of Andriy Ukrainets’ family did not start recently. As early as February 2026, Bihus.Info journalists reported that his relatives had acquired assets over several years with an estimated value of about 1 million dollars.

A significant portion of the property was registered to the retired parents. In particular, the serviceman’s mother in 2025 registered as an entrepreneur and soon became the owner of apartments in the Mountain Residence complex in Bukovel. Journalists estimated the approximate value of such a property at 6.5 million hryvnias.

The mother was also listed as the owner of a house near Zhytomyr and several apartments in Kyiv, including in the residential complexes “Faina Town” and “Varshavskyi”. An apartment in Kyiv, houses and land plots in the Zhytomyr region, as well as parking spaces, were registered to the serviceman’s son.

This is not the first suspicion announced against Andriy Ukrainets. In February 2026, he and the then head of the SBU Directorate in Zhytomyr region, Volodymyr Kompanichenko, were detained as part of an investigation into possible corruption during the construction of protective structures for combat aviation. According to law enforcement, in May 2025 about 1.4 billion hryvnias were directed to the installation of prefabricated arched shelters at the operational airfields of the Defense Forces.

The checks allegedly showed that certain projects did not meet safety requirements, the structures did not guarantee adequate protection of aircraft, and the cost of the works may have been inflated. Despite this, contractors received advance payments.

Investigators believe that to stop inspections and conceal possible embezzlement officials proposed to transfer about 13 million hryvnias — approximately 1% of the project funding. They also allegedly planned to involve compliant auditors to prepare the necessary conclusions about the quality of the structures. The suspects were detained on 25 February 2026 during an attempt to hand over 320 thousand US dollars.

27 February 2026 the High Anti-Corruption Court chose detention for Andriy Ukrainets as a preventive measure until 25 April with the possibility of posting bail in the amount of 7 million hryvnias. The VAC’s appellate chamber later left this decision unchanged. The new suspicion of illegal enrichment is a separate episode. The court must give the final assessment of the evidence and the legality of the origin of the property.

According to Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent until their guilt is proven in accordance with the law and established by a guilty verdict of a court.
