From Simferopol to St. Petersburg: drones set fire to three Wildberries warehouses in a single night

In the night before Friday, 24 July 2026, drones attacked the logistics centers of the Russian company Wildberries in the Leningrad Oblast, Saint Petersburg and the temporarily occupied Crimea. Large-scale fires broke out at the sites, the company halted operations at some complexes and evacuated employees. This was reported by “Radio Liberty” citing Russian authorities, the company and monitoring channels.

The Wildberries sorting center near Simferopol was hit. The company confirmed the evacuation of staff in accordance with safety requirements, but did not release detailed information about the damage. The Russian occupation authorities also did not specify what exactly was damaged at the site. After 03:00, Russian Telegram channels began reporting a massive drone attack on Saint Petersburg and the Leningrad Oblast. One of the strikes was recorded at a Wildberries warehouse complex in the village of Novosaratovka in Vsevolozhsky District. A fire broke out on the premises. Governor Alexander Drozdenko confirmed a drone strike on the Wildberries warehouse and reported 3 injured. He assessed their condition as moderate. All the injured were taken to hospital. The Russian authorities did not clarify who the injured were or whether they worked at the warehouse.

Another Wildberries logistics center, according to monitoring channels, caught fire in the settlement of Shushary in Saint Petersburg. OSINT analysts geolocated a video of the fire and said that smoke was rising above the warehouse complex on Moskovskoye Highway.

In its press service, Wildberries confirmed the temporary suspension of operations at the complexes in Shushary and the industrial zone “Utkina Zavod” in Novosaratovka. The Russian company said its employees were not injured during the latest attack. At the same time, local authorities reported 3 wounded on the territory of one of the sites. As a result of the night attack, structures of one of the warehouses of the poultry farm “Pivnichna” in the settlement of Sinyavino, Kirovsky District, Leningrad Oblast also collapsed. According to official Russian data, there were no casualties at that site.

The night attack continued a series of strikes on Wildberries’ logistics infrastructure. On 18 July 2026, drones attacked the company’s centers in Kotovsk, Tambov Oblast and in the Moscow region town of Elektrostal. On 22 July warehouses in Krasnodar and Nevinnomyssk, Stavropol Krai were hit. Overall, since 18 July attacks have been recorded at 5 Wildberries warehouses, which accounted for about 10% of the Russian marketplace’s logistical capacity. After the strikes on 18 July, the Russian side reported 8 dead in Kotovsk and Elektrostal.

The Ukrainian side previously said that Wildberries’ facilities were used as part of infrastructure supporting the Russian army. Russia denies this and calls the warehouses exclusively civilian objects. It is currently impossible to independently verify the full list of cargoes that were present in the logistics centers.

Wildberries is one of the largest Russian marketplaces and plays a significant role in the internal logistics of the aggressor state. According to Reuters’ estimate, Wildberries and other large Russian trading platforms account for sales and services equivalent to approximately 8.5% of Russia’s gross domestic product, and employ about 4 million workers.

At the time of publication, the Ukrainian military command had not released a detailed official report on all the sites struck in the night before 24 July and had not disclosed the means used to carry out the attack.
