10,000 supplement for military personnel: who will be paid and who will not receive it

Ukrainian servicemembers who are stationed in rear areas and are not performing combat or special tasks may receive an additional payment of 10 thousand hryvnias per month.

Together with their basic pay, their monthly payment must be at least 30 thousand hryvnias, reports the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

The size of the additional payment depends on the place of service, the nature of the tasks, participation in hostilities and the level of risk. Therefore, the supplement of 10 thousand hryvnias is not automatically granted to all servicemembers.

Servicemembers who perform combat or special tasks are entitled to increased additional payments of 30 thousand, 50 thousand or 100 thousand hryvnias. The amount depends on the specific task, the location where it is performed and the duration of the servicemember’s participation.

For a period during which a servicemember is granted one of the increased rewards, a separate supplement of 10 thousand hryvnias is not paid. Simultaneous accrual of several additional rewards for the same period is not provided: the higher payment applies.

During leave, a servicemember receives only basic pay. The additional reward of 10 thousand hryvnias is not paid for days spent on leave.

Different rules apply during treatment. When a servicemember is undergoing treatment due to an illness or injury not related to the defense of Ukraine, they retain their basic pay and the additional reward of 10 thousand hryvnias.

When a wound, injury, concussion or disability is related to the defense of the Motherland, a servicemember may be entitled to an additional reward of 100 thousand hryvnias per month. Its payment depends on proper documentary confirmation of the circumstances of the injury and the period of treatment.

Thus, the supplement of 10 thousand hryvnias is primarily received by servicemembers who serve in the rear, do not perform combat or special tasks and are not on leave. At the same time, other, larger payments apply during combat duties or treatment after a combat wound.
