Left without a house after the shelling: in Lymany, fellow villagers banded together to save the home for an affected family
The community came together for neighbors who lost their home
The village head of Lymany and Lupareve, Natalya Panashiy, on July 3, 2026 told how local residents helped neighbors who were affected by Russian shelling.
According to her, after the Russian attack one family in an instant was left without a house, and a woman suffered a concussion. Already the next day concerned fellow villagers gathered to save at least part of the summer kitchen, which was left without a roof and windows.
As the village head reported, after several announcements in the local group people promptly collected building materials, came to help and together covered the premises where the affected family will be able to live temporarily until the issue with the main house is resolved.
Natalya Panashiy also noted that, in her expectation, charitable organizations will respond to the situation next, and later the family will be able to use the eRecovery program. The village head thanked local residents for their quick response and support, emphasizing that there is no such thing as someone else’s misfortune.
