Offered vodka to a 12-year-old: in Mykolaiv an 18-year-old man was punished for the second time
The young man has already been punished for a similar incident involving an underage girl
In Mykolaiv, a 12-year-old boy was hospitalized with alcohol poisoning after an 18-year-old acquaintance offered him vodka. The adult young man has been brought to administrative responsibility for the second time for causing a minor to become intoxicated.
This was reported by the Communications Department of the Mykolaiv Oblast Police.
During the day on June 23, 2026, while patrolling the riverside area of the Namyv microdistrict, juvenile police officers found a 12-year-old boy in a state of severe alcohol intoxication. The child was taken to a medical facility and handed over to doctors.
Law enforcement officers established that the boy met his 18-year-old acquaintance on the riverbank, who was relaxing and drinking alcohol. During their interaction, the adult allegedly offered the minor vodka.
The police established his identity and whereabouts. Administrative proceedings were drawn up against him under Article 180 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses — causing a minor to become intoxicated. He was also fined.
The police noted that a few days earlier the same young man had already been held accountable for a similar case. At that time he caused an underage female acquaintance to become intoxicated.
The children’s lives and health are currently not at risk.
Law enforcement officials urge parents to more closely monitor their children’s leisure activities and to explain to them the consequences of alcohol consumption. Even a single instance of drinking can cause serious harm to the health of minors.
Citizens are asked to report cases of sale or consumption of alcohol and tobacco products by minors to the 102 hotline.
