Kim, Sienkevych and community mayors went to Poland to seek billions for reconstruction
Mykolaiv took first place in the state selection of communities
The delegation of Mykolaiv Oblast is taking part in the events of Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026 in Gdańsk, Poland, where it is presenting the region’s priority recovery projects to international partners and investors.
This was on June 25 reported the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration.
The delegation includes Head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Vitalii Kim, Chairman of the Regional Council Anton Tabunshchyk, Mayor of Mykolaiv Oleksandr Sienkevych, as well as representatives of the region’s territorial communities.
Communities of the Mykolaiv region are presenting projects related to the restoration of critical, social, transport and communal infrastructure. Among the main directions are the modernization of water supply and wastewater systems, increasing energy efficiency and improving the quality of services for the region’s residents.
Within the framework of the conference, regional representatives plan to hold negotiations with international partners, and also sign memoranda and agreements regarding further cooperation and support for the communities.
Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych noted that the Mykolaiv territorial community took first place in Ukraine in the competitive selection by the Ministry for the Development of Communities and Territories for participation in URC-2026.
According to him, this demonstrates trust in the projects prepared by the city and the readiness of international partners to move from general discussions to concrete decisions.
“URC-2026 is a platform where people do not speak in generalities, but agree on specifics: investments, partnerships, signed agreements and the launch of new recovery projects, primarily in the fields of energy and logistics”, — said Oleksandr Sienkevych.
For Mykolaiv, participation in the conference should become an opportunity to establish direct contacts with investors and donors, attract additional financing and accelerate the restoration of the city’s infrastructure.
The official part of the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026 is taking place on June 25–26. The forum brings together representatives of governments, international financial institutions, business, communities and public organizations.
During the conference, about 160 agreements are planned to be concluded and more than 30 new partnerships announced for a total amount of over 10 billion euros.
