Cherkasy region: clash between employees and the Territorial Recruitment Center (TRC) at a company — gas, a gunshot and a criminal case for the abduction of a man

The Cherkasy Oblast police are clarifying the circumstances of an incident between employees of one of the enterprises and representatives of the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center (RTsK) in Zvenyhorodka Raion, which occurred on June 8.

The department’s press service reported the incident: according to preliminary information, a verbal conflict at the production site quickly escalated into a violent confrontation.

During the clash, one of the participants used a pepper spray canister, and another produced a starter pistol and fired a shot into the air, after which RTsK employees removed one of the men from the scene.

The information has been entered into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations (ЄРДР) under the elements of the crime provided for in part 2 of article 146 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — unlawful deprivation of liberty or abduction of a person.

Procedural supervision in the proceedings is being carried out by the Cherkasy Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Defense, while police investigators are conducting the necessary examinations, questioning witnesses and establishing the sequence of events.

Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, reported that the territorial recruitment and social support centers in Ukraine have effectively turned into places where citizens are deprived of their liberty.
