"Don't believe everything on the internet": Kim explained what is happening with migrants in the Mykolaiv region
The head of the Regional Military Administration reviewed the data on employment contracts with migrants in the region
The head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Vitaliy Kim on June 9, 2026 commented on information circulating on social networks about migrants, and also urged residents of the region and businesses to make more active use of state support programs.
In his address he emphasized that there are currently more than 60 programs available for people and businesses, including compensations for businesses that stopped operations due to hostilities, as well as training and retraining programs for employees.
In particular, according to Vitaliy Kim, there is a program “Support Point”, which provides compensation of 17 thousand hryvnias to enterprises that were forced to suspend activities due to hostilities. Opportunities are also available for training employees aged 45+ and support for employers preparing personnel for new specialties.
Separately, he drew attention to the topic of migrants, around which various messages appear on social networks. According to the head of the region, the statistics for Mykolaiv do not confirm a large impact of labor migrants on the demographic situation.
Vitaliy Kim explained that he checked the data regarding employment contracts with migrants in the region and urged people not to trust everything that is spread online.
“They keep repeating online that migrants have arrived here. So, I took the statistics: in 2025 we had 15 employment contracts in the region. And among them there is even a finance director, a deputy for economics — that is, not just workers. Since 2026 to the present we have 21 employment contracts; I have a list for each enterprise, so that is 21 people. Therefore this will by no means affect the demographic situation, at least in our region. There is an increase, but it is within the margin of error, so to speak. So don’t believe everything they say on the internet, everything is fine”.
Also, Vitaliy Kim reminded that employers whose enterprises belong to the defense-industrial complex and other priority sectors of the economy can apply for staff training through the State Employment Service: https://dcz.gov.ua/profnavch/navchopk
For consultations regarding compensation of part of wages and the single social contribution (SSC) during downtime or suspension of an employment contract for enterprises that suffered damage during martial law after 01.01.2026, companies can contact the employment center at their place of operation.
Useful information about work, training and support programs can also be found on the “Khvylky“ website.
