Gloves, rakes and a little conscience: Shyroka Balka is being asked to clean the beach
Residents are being asked to tidy up the recreation area before the summer season
In Shyroka Balka, residents are invited to join the cleaning of the local beach ahead of the start of the active summer season. The corresponding post 3 June 2026 appeared in the Facebook group “Shykarna Balka“.
One of the posters reached out to the neighborhood residents with a call to tidy up the recreation area together. She reminded that summer is already near, and the beach in Shyroka Balka is traditionally a place where local residents come to relax.
The cleanup is scheduled for 5 June at 12:00. Everyone willing is asked to come with their own gloves and rakes.
The author of the post also asked the group administrator to share the announcement so that as many people as possible would see the information and be able to join. According to her, after such initiatives residents often say that they simply did not know about the event.
Such initiatives in the Korablevnyi district of Mykolaiv once again show: where people do not want to wait years for a response from services, the community often takes matters into its own hands. At the same time, the issue of maintaining recreational places remains not only the responsibility of active residents but also the direct responsibility of city and district services, which must systematically maintain the cleanliness of public areas.
