Doctors fought but could not save him: a 65-year-old man died after a nighttime attack on Mykolaiv

In Mykolaiv police reported details of a nighttime attack by enemy UAVs. Initially, law enforcement officers reported the injury of a 65-year-old man, who was taken to a medical facility by ambulance after the strike. Windows of a building and vehicles were also damaged as a result of the attack.

At the scene, officers from the investigative-operational group of Police Station № 1 of the Mykolaiv district police department, investigators from the department for investigating crimes committed in the context of an armed conflict of the regional police investigative directorate, and explosive ordnance disposal specialists were working.

Law enforcement officers inspected the area after the strike, documented the aftermath of another war crime by the Russian Federation against the civilian population, and seized material evidence. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing under Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Later the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Vitaliy Kim reported a tragic update: the man wounded during the nighttime attack died in hospital. According to him, doctors tried to save the victim, but the injuries proved to be incompatible with life.

“Unfortunately, in hospital a 65-year-old man who sustained severe injuries as a result of the nighttime attack “Shahed” on Mykolaiv has died.

Doctors fought to save his life, but they were unable to do so.

Thus, the nighttime attack on Mykolaiv ended with the death of a civilian resident. The police continue to document evidence for criminal proceedings regarding a war crime by the Russian Federation.
