The same waste, but prices are rising: residents of Korabelnyi face a new tariff "surprise"
In Mykolaiv, they want to raise garbage fees again
In Mykolaiv, yet another increase in rates for household waste management services is planned. This concerns the municipal enterprises “Mykolaivkomuntrans” and “Obriy-DKP”, which handle garbage collection in the city. The corresponding draft decision was published on the website of the Mykolaiv City Council. The document is to be considered at the executive committee meeting on June 10, 2026. If the decision is approved, the new rates will take effect from July 1, 2026. For “Mykolaivkomuntrans”, the burial fee for household waste is proposed to be set at 308.42 hryvnias per tonne or 47.50 hryvnias per cubic meter.
New rates for collection and transportation of waste are also planned for this enterprise:
- mixed household waste – 382.69 hryvnias per cubic meter;
- bulky waste – 612.32 hryvnias per cubic meter;
- construction/removal waste – 612.32 hryvnias per cubic meter.
For the municipal enterprise “Obriy-DKP”, which serves, among others, residents of the Korablenyi District of Mykolaiv, the draft decision provides for even higher rates for certain types of waste:
- collection of mixed household waste – 378.28 hryvnias per cubic meter;
- bulky waste – 1153.83 hryvnias per cubic meter;
- construction/removal waste – 1170.64 hryvnias per cubic meter.
In practice, the most noticeable price increases may hit residents who need to remove old furniture, large items after cleaning, or construction debris after renovation. It is precisely bulky and construction/removal waste that have the highest costs in the new calculations.
This is not the first rate increase for “Obriy-DKP” in 2026. From May 1, 2026, rates for collection and transportation of household waste for residents of the Korablenyi District have already risen: at that time the tariff for mixed waste was raised to 302.64 hryvnias per cubic meter, for bulky waste to 561.48 hryvnias per cubic meter, and for construction/removal waste to 536.77 hryvnias per cubic meter.
Against this background, the new draft looks particularly painful for the district: if adopted, the “Obriy-DKP” tariff for bulky waste may already rise to 1153.83 hryvnias per cubic meter, and for construction/removal waste to 1170.64 hryvnias per cubic meter. For people, this means that any post-renovation cleaning or removal of old furniture may become noticeably more expensive.
The question for city residents remains simple and acute: if tariffs rise again, residents expect not only new numbers on bills, but a real improvement in service quality – without overflowing bins, illegal dumps and constant shifting of responsibility between services.
Reminder: earlier we wrote:
- Mykolaiv may be left without an operational landfill for garbage: authorities urgently take up sorting
- Illegal dump in Korablenyi District: residents complained — the garbage was cleared
- The same garbage, but a different price: the executive committee raised the waste removal tariff for Korablenyi
- Up to 561 hryvnias per cubic meter: in Mykolaiv they want to sharply raise the tariff for bulky waste
- Waste bins worth millions: Mykolaiv purchased 200 new steel containers
