Mykolaiv "mermaids" from Korabelnyi back on the podium: synchronized swimmers brought home medals from Lviv
27 children from the Korabelnyi District faced the strongest teams in Ukraine — and came back with awards
In Lviv, from May 8 to 10, 2026, the Ukrainian synchronized swimming championship was held among children aged up to 12 years and younger.
More than 100 participants took part in the competition from Mykolaiv, Lviv, Odesa, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi oblasts and the city of Kyiv. A special feature of the championship was the performances of beginner athletes. For some children these competitions were their first start in a sports career, so the fight for the medals had not only a competitive but also an important emotional significance. Mykolaiv at the championship was represented by 27 athletes of KDYuSSh “Ukraine”, whose base is located at SKPB “Vodoliy” in the Korabelnyi district. The school’s pupils won medals in various program events.
First place was won by Darya Volkova in solo, P1.
Second place in the group, free routine and combined group went to

Third place in solo was won by Marianna Kostenko.

Also third place in solo, P2, was won by Kristina Lukova.
Among beginners in the duet, the bronze medalists were Maryana Berenstham and Anisiia Krykunova.
