"Home on a shield": Korabelnyi District lost its warrior-defender, father of two children
The farewell to the Hero will take place on March 20
He would have recently turned 42 years old… In the Korabelnyi district of Mykolaiv (in the Shyroka Balka neighborhood) they will lay to rest the Ukrainian defender Zhurbin Dmytro Oleksandrovych (call sign “Sedoy”). This was reported on the social network Facebook by the deceased soldier’s wife, Svitlana Zhurbina:
“Stop the search. A Hero of Ukraine — a husband and father of two wonderful children, Zhurbin Dmytro Oleksandrovych — returns home “on a shield.”
The farewell to the Hero will take place on March 20 at 10:30. The ceremony will begin at 9 Novatoriv Street. Everyone who wishes can come and see Dmytro off on his final journey. A bus will be waiting by the house to take everyone to the church and to the burial site. I ask everyone who knew my husband to come and honor the memory of our angel.”
Dmytro Zhurbin was born on March 27, 1984. According to his wife, he served in the 82nd Brigade, 3rd Battalion, 12th Company and was a squad commander.
The soldier went on a combat mission on February 18, 2024 near the settlement of Verbove in the Polohy district of Zaporizhzhia region…
