Where missiles and drones are headed: an online map has appeared in “Air Alert”
Users are shown approximate directions of movement, not exact coordinates
In the “Air Alert” mobile app, a map is now available to all users, showing the approximate routes of Russian missiles and drones. Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhii Koretskyi announced the update.
The head of government noted that timely access to information is especially important during large-scale attacks: every minute can make a difference.
“It is important for people to have quick access to information verified by the military and not have to waste time searching for reports from unverified sources. Important! The map does not show the exact real-time location of targets,” emphasized Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi.
The Ministry of Digital Transformation clarified which aerial threats are shown on the map:
- cruise missiles;
- “Shahed”-type attack drones;
- jet-powered drones;
- “Banderol” drones;
- guided aerial bombs — KABs;
- targets whose type has not yet been identified — these have a separate marker.
However, tracking ballistic missiles is not yet available in this version of the map.
The new feature was developed jointly by:
- the Ministry of Digital Transformation;
- the Ministry of Defense;
- the Ukrainian Air Force;
- Ukrainian IT companies.
The aim of the update is to ensure that, during Russian attacks, people do not have to gather information about threats from various Telegram channels and other sources.
The developers caution that the map is for informational purposes only and does not replace official air-raid alerts. It should not be relied on as the sole basis for making decisions about personal safety. Once an alert is issued, you must immediately move to a shelter and remain there until the all-clear is officially announced.
The “Air Alert” app itself was created by Ukrainian companies Ajax Systems and Stfalcon, with support from the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.
