Soldier beat his live-in partner to death in Mykolaiv region: children were in the house
The court sentenced the man to nine years in prison
A serviceman mobilized into the military fatally beat his partner in one of the settlements of the Pervomaiskyi district in the Mykolaiv region. The attack occurred on the evening of March 2, 2026. The circumstances of the case are set out in the verdict of the Pervomaiskyi City District Court of Mykolaiv Oblast, published in the Unified State Register of Court Decisions.
That evening the man and the woman were drinking alcohol together. Two young children were also in the house. During the quarrel the man took a wooden bat and began to strike his partner. The blows continued until the bat broke. Even after that the attack did not stop: the man beat the woman with his hands and feet on the head, torso and limbs.
Among the victim’s numerous injuries were bone fractures, a brain hemorrhage, lung contusions, abrasions and hemorrhages. The injuries led to the development of traumatic shock and fat embolism, from which the woman died.
During the attack the man was intoxicated. In court he fully admitted his guilt and explained that that evening he had drunk approximately 1.5 liters of wine.
The court found him guilty of intentional grievous bodily harm under aggravating circumstances that caused the victim’s death. The sentence imposed is 9 years of imprisonment.
After the mother’s death, her children were left alone. Another family took guardianship of them.
