Russians struck the Trypillia Thermal Power Plant: power-generating equipment damaged

At night on September 30, Russian forces struck the Trypillia Thermal Power Plant in the Kyiv region. The attack caused damage to generating equipment, PJSC “Centrenergo” reported.

The scope of repairs will be determined after an assessment of the equipment’s condition. According to the company, work can only begin when the security situation allows specialists to be on the station’s premises.

PJSC “Centrenergo” Serhiy Isachenko, the CEO, emphasized that the team continues to work:

“The team knows what to do and continues to work.”

The company is not disclosing further details about the consequences of the strike at this time, citing security reasons. In its statement, PJSC “Centrenergo” links the attack to the approach of the heating season:

“The enemy is deliberately striking the energy sector on the eve of the heating season, hoping to leave Ukrainians without electricity and heat. But we will stand firm.”
