A motorcyclist was killed after colliding with a "Tavria" in Mykolaiv Oblast
In Novyi Buh, a passenger of a two-wheeled vehicle was injured
25 September at about 14:00 in Novyi Buh of Bashtanskyi Raion, a ZAZ “Tavriya” car driven by a 75-year-old man collided with a Suzuki motorcycle ridden by a 28-year-old rider. The accident occurred at the intersection of Hrebennykova and Kharchuka streets.
The motorcycle rider and his 27-year-old passenger sustained injuries of varying severity. The 28-year-old motorcyclist later died in hospital. The driver of the car is also in a medical facility due to his health condition.
Investigators have opened a criminal proceeding under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — violation of traffic safety rules or vehicle operation that caused the victim’s death. The article’s sanction provides for up to eight years of imprisonment.
The police are establishing the circumstances and causes of the crash; the pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
