War-damaged water mains in Mykolaiv will be rehabilitated: the executive committee approved the program for 2027

The Executive Committee of the Mykolaiv City Council approved the investment program of the municipal enterprise “Mykolaivvodokanal” for 2027. The document provides for the renewal and reconstruction of the company’s water supply and wastewater networks.

The deputy director for project implementation of the municipal enterprise “Mykolaivvodokanal”, Viktor Pisotsky, explained that the program is intended to increase the resilience of the water supply and wastewater systems that suffered significant damage as a result of the war.

“So our main task is to maintain the existing systems in proper condition in order to provide the community of Mykolaiv with water and wastewater services,” emphasized Viktor Pisotsky.

Among the main measures of the program are the renewal of the water supply networks. Significant investments are also planned to be directed to the reconstruction of the sewer infrastructure.

To implement the planned measures, the enterprise will use its own and borrowed funds, as well as grant financing.

“Overall, we are trying to make maximum use of grant funds to reduce the burden on the city budget,” said Viktor Pisotsky.

In addition, “Mykolaivvodokanal” has already started a new program together with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. It involves the reconstruction of city water mains, including in the central part of Mykolaiv.

Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych noted the assistance of international partners in restoring and modernizing the facilities of “Mykolaivvodokanal”. He singled out the contribution of Denmark and thanked the partners for supporting the city.
