Russian attacks caused new power outages in the Mykolaiv region

After another round of Russian attacks in Mykolaiv region, new power outages occurred. Ukrenergo reported on the consequences of the strikes as of this morning, 22 September.

Blackouts from attacks by Russian drones and artillery shelling were recorded in seven regions:

• Mykolaiv region;
• Kyiv region;
• Dnipropetrovsk region;
• Vinnytsia region;
• Zhytomyr region;
• Chernihiv region;
• Sumy region.

Emergency restoration work is already underway where the security situation allows. Energy workers are trying to restore power to all consumers as quickly as possible.

At the same time, electricity consumption in Ukraine is rising. At 09:30 it was 4.5% higher than the previous day. Ukrenergo explained this by cloudy and rainy weather: household solar power plants are working less efficiently, which increases the load on the overall power system.

Ukrainians were urged to use electricity sparingly throughout the day, and especially from 10:00 to 22:00. The situation in the power system remains volatile, so consumers are advised to monitor official announcements from distribution system operators.
