On the morning of 9 September 2026, Russian forces again attacked the port infrastructure area near Mykolaiv. According to a monitoring Telegram channel, the “Nikolaevsky Vanyok” author reports that during the morning attack the enemy used four “Banderol” missiles, eight UMPB-5 KABs, and several attack drones.

The channel’s author claims the target was again the port, which, he says, has been blocked and effectively non-operational since 2022. The strikes caused new damage to port infrastructure, and civilian warehouse facilities in the city were also damaged. According to “Vanyok”‘s estimates, over the course of several hours the Russians directed roughly to the same area two “Iskander-M” missiles, about 15 “Banderol” missiles and about 15 UMPB-5 KABs.

“A ‘brilliant massed bombardment’,” the channel’s author commented ironically, noting that the Russian army expended a large number of munitions on a facility that, he claims, has not been operational for several years.

Officially, the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration confirmed that overnight the region suffered a massive combined attack using Shahed-238, “Iskander-M” missiles, “Banderol” missiles and KABs. In Mykolaiv, among the damaged targets were, in particular, port, transport and civilian infrastructure.
