Mykolaiv fencers won silver at the World Cup in Thailand
Oleh Naumenko won two medals for the Ukrainian national team
Contribution to the national team’s treasury: Mykolaiv para-athletes won medals at the Wheelchair Fencing World Cup. From 29 August to 2 September the Wheelchair Fencing World Cup took place in Chonburi (Pattaya, Thailand). Para-athletes from 29 countries participated.
The Ukrainian team was represented by 10 athletes, among them Mykolaiv fencers: Oleh Naumenko, Dmytro Seryozhenko, Oleksiy Zakusilov, Tetyana Poznyak.
The Mykolaiv athletes showed excellent results, winning top honors: Oleh Naumenko – “silver” in the épée among men (category B); Oleh Naumenko, Dmytro Seryozhenko, Oleksiy Zakusilov – “silver” in the team foil.
Our athletes were coached by Hennadiy Yanovskyi, Volodymyr Khrystyk and Oleksandr Doroshyn.
As a result, the Ukrainian national Paralympic wheelchair fencing team finished the World Cup with 5 major awards (4 silver and 1 bronze) and placed sixth overall.
