Mykolaiv welcomed the defenders who returned from Russian captivity. The Mykolaiv community greeted the defenders of Ukraine who returned home after being held in Russian captivity.

Among those released are defenders of the 30th Marine Corps. Mykolaiv remembers their contribution to the defense of Ukraine and continues to support the military, veterans and their families.

Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych thanked the freed soldiers for their resilience and indomitability. He noted that after returning from captivity, recovery, adaptation and a sense of support are especially important. That is why a systematic municipal assistance program for released defenders operates in Mykolaiv.

The Mykolaiv community regularly purchases and provides backpacks with basic essentials to Ukrainian defenders who return from Russian captivity.

This time, on the mayor’s instructions, the head of the Department for War Veterans’ Affairs, Serhii Zaitsev, delivered the necessary aid and backpacks for the freed soldiers.

City partners also join in supporting the freed soldiers. In particular, the Mykolaiv clothing brand KIFA (TM «KIFA») provided the defenders with warm clothing needed during the adaptation period after returning home.

The Mykolaiv community continues to do everything necessary so that every defender returning from captivity feels: they are at home, they are not alone, they are remembered and supported.
