Bloody strike on a shopping center in Kryvyi Rih: the number of wounded and dead is increasing
The prosecutor's office is investigating another war crime by Russia
21 August 2026, Russian forces carried out two strikes using UAVs on a shopping center in Kryvyi Rih. The attack occurred at around 16:30, the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine reported.
According to preliminary data from the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, as a result of the Russian strikes six civilians were killed. Another 96 people were injured, among the victims — six children. Twenty-one of the injured (including one child) – are in serious condition. Emergency services and law enforcement are working at the scene. Prosecutors together with investigators are documenting the consequences of the strikes and collecting evidence of another war crime by the Russian Federation. The number of victims is still being determined, so the figures may change.
Under the procedural guidance of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a criminal proceeding has been opened under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — violation of the laws and customs of war. Investigative actions are ongoing.
