In Khmelnytskyi region, two men threatened police officers with an AK-12 assault rifle
One of them took a weapon out of the trunk and simulated loading a cartridge into the chamber
In the Slavuta community of Khmelnytskyi region, police detained two men who, during a conflict, threatened officers with automatic weapons. No one was injured. The regional police reported this.
The incident occurred near the village of Romaniny after receiving a report of a shooting at a recreation spot near a local quarry.
During a conversation with police, a 31-year-old resident of the village of Vachiv in the Ulashanivska community began to threaten one of the officers and attempted to inflict bodily harm on him.
Then a 34-year-old resident of Kyiv region took an assault rifle AK-12 from the trunk of a car and pointed it at the police. The man reloaded the weapon, imitating chambering a round, and then continued to threaten its use.
Law enforcement stopped the illegal actions and detained both men. The detention was carried out in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
Investigators of the Shepetivka District Police Department, under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor’s office, charged the men with:
- under Part 1 of Article 345 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — for threatening violence against a law enforcement officer in connection with the performance of his official duties;
- under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — for hooliganism committed by a group of persons using firearms.
Investigative actions are ongoing.
