Residents of Kherson, business representatives and OSBB will be able to receive anti-drone nets free of charge to set up protection near residential buildings, entrances to apartment buildings, shops, cafés and other facilities. At the same time, residents must organize the installation of the structures themselves.

The new initiative on 5 August 2026 was announced by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Prokudin.

Regional authorities plan to expand the network of physical protection against Russian unmanned aerial vehicles, but municipal services, due to the large volume of work, cannot promptly cover all dangerous areas of Kherson with nets.

Municipal workers are currently operating in an intensified mode: they are installing anti-drone tunnels, addressing the aftermath of Russian shelling and restoring damaged infrastructure. Due to constant FPV drone attacks, roads, residential courtyards, entrances to apartment buildings and areas near businesses require special attention.

To speed up the installation of protection, the authorities proposed to combine the efforts of residents, entrepreneurs, heads of institutions and associations of co-owners of multi-apartment buildings. People willing to equip a dangerous area themselves will be issued the necessary netting material free of charge.

Head of the Kherson RMA Oleksandr Prokudin emphasized that the nets have already been used in combat conditions, and each additionally protected area can reduce the risk of a direct hit by a Russian drone.

“We will provide anti-drone netting free of charge — a quality fabric that has already proven its effectiveness in combat conditions. You can use it to cover the area near your house, the entrance to your apartment building, a shop, a café or another facility. Each such site is an additional chance to protect yourself, your relatives and everyone nearby.”

To obtain the netting, contact the regional contact center via the toll-free numbers:

  • 0 800 101 102;
  • 0 800 330 951.
