Assault in a supermarket in Mykolaiv region: the girl was removed from her family
After eyewitnesses circulated the video, social services and the police arrived at the address at 11:00 PM; before the incident, the child had been cared for by their grandmother
July 24 in one of the supermarkets in Voznesensk in the Mykolaiv region, shoppers filmed a woman pulling a little girl’s hair and beating her.
The incident was reported by “Voznesensky Visnyk”, which published the footage and appealed to residents to help identify the woman so she could be held accountable for aggressive actions toward the child.
After the video circulated, officers from the Child Services, together with police, quickly responded to the report and at about 23:00 went to the child’s place of residence to check the conditions and ensure the minor’s safety.
During the visit it was revealed that the girl’s mother is abroad and the child was being cared for by her grandmother. The minor was removed from the family and temporarily placed in a safe environment until further decisions are made by the authorized bodies.
“The Child Services will inform about the further course of the case. The mother must return to Ukraine as soon as possible to resolve matters regarding the child,” the Child Services reported.
The city authorities thanked all concerned residents who promptly spread the information and contributed to the swift response of the responsible services.
