In Mykolaiv, a moped ran over a pedestrian: the woman was hospitalized

In Mykolaiv on the evening of July 20, a road traffic accident occurred involving a moped and a female pedestrian. A 37-year-old woman with bodily injuries was taken to a medical facility, where she was hospitalized.
The accident occurred at approximately 22:00 in the vicinity of building No. 4 on Bohoyavlenskyi Avenue.
According to preliminary information, a 41-year-old rider of a Yamaha YP 250 moped struck the pedestrian.
According to police, the woman was crossing the roadway at a place not designated for crossing.
Investigators have opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — violation of road traffic safety rules or the operation of transport by persons who drive vehicles.
The penalty under this article provides for up to three years of restriction of freedom with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for the same term.
Police are establishing all the circumstances and causes of the accident. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
