In Mykolaiv, the director of one of the medical institutions has been notified of suspicion of official negligence, which, according to the investigation, caused almost UAH 10.7 million in damages to the state budget.

On July 13, 2026, this was reported by the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office and the regional police.

According to law enforcement, during 2021–2023 the hospital entered into contracts with the National Health Service of Ukraine under the Medical Guarantees programme. They related to care for patients with acute stroke, as well as inpatient and mobile palliative care for adults and children.

The investigation found that the medical facility did not fulfill part of the special conditions of the contracts, in particular regarding the availability of the necessary specialists and equipment. At the same time, information about allegedly provided services was entered into the electronic health care system, on the basis of which reports were generated for the NHSU.

According to the investigation, the hospital director did not take measures to eliminate the violations. As a result, the medical facility unjustifiably received almost UAH 10.7 million from the state budget.

The official was notified of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — official negligence that caused grave consequences. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

According to the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent until their guilt is proven in court.
