6 shots at a passerby — 850 hryvnias fine: in Odesa a woman was punished for a conflict over flowers
The accused (female) opened fire with a pneumatic pistol
In Odesa a court fined a woman 850 hryvnias who fired a pneumatic pistol at a passerby at least 6 times. The conflict arose over flowers the defendant was tearing from a flower bed.
The verdict was handed down by the Prymorsky District Court of the city of Odesa on 30 June 2026.
The defendant – a native of Kyiv, had no prior convictions and was not officially employed.
The incident occurred on 29 May 2026 at approximately 22:40 near the establishment “Beach Club ГорПляж” on Andriya Huloho-Hulenka Street, 1.
The woman began tearing flowers from the flower bed. A passerby saw this, made a remark to her and began recording the incident on her phone. A quarrel arose between the women, during which both were filming.
Angry, the defendant drew from behind the waistband of her trousers a pneumatic Glock-17 Gen‑4 pistol, loaded with plastic pellets 6 mm in diameter, and fired at least 6 aimed shots toward the victim.
One of the pellets struck the woman. She sustained a bruise in the suprapubic area, which experts classified as minor bodily injuries.
The defendant fully admitted guilt and expressed remorse. The victim also agreed to the case being considered without her participation, so the verdict was issued in a simplified procedure.
The court found the woman guilty of intentional minor bodily injury and imposed a fine of 850 hryvnias.
The court ordered the pneumatic pistol and its magazine to be destroyed, and the video recordings of the conflict were left in the materials of the criminal proceedings.
The verdict can be appealed within 30 days.
