Attack on the military recruitment center with a tractor: a serviceman suffered a broken arm, and the attacker avoided imprisonment

The Dubrovytsia District Court of the Rivne Region issued a verdict on June 4, 2026 against a man who attacked servicemen of the Territorial Recruitment Center and damaged an official vehicle.

The incident occurred on March 28, 2025 near the village of Zahreblia in the Sarny District.

According to the case materials, the commander and a shooter of the TRC guard platoon, together with a police officer, were checking the military registration documents of men they had noticed in a field. After completing the check, the alert group was returning to the settlement.

A tractor driven by a local resident was approaching the service vehicle, a Nissan X-Trail.

The investigation established that the driver rammed the SUV twice with the tractor, and then struck it again from the side, attempting to push the vehicle into a ditch.

According to experts, the damage to the service vehicle amounted to more than 80,000 hryvnias.

After the collision the man climbed out of the tractor cab and struck the platoon commander on the arm with a wooden plank.

As a result of the attack, the serviceman sustained a fracture of the ulna and other injuries of moderate severity.

The defendant also punched another serviceman several times.

During the trial the man fully admitted his guilt, expressed remorse and apologized to the victims. He also compensated one of the servicemen for the damages.

The court took into account that the defendant had no prior convictions, had positive character references, and a probation authority’s conclusion that he could be corrected without isolation from society.

As a result, the court found the man guilty under Part 2 of Article 350 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and imposed a sentence of three years of restriction of liberty.

At the same time, he was released from serving the sentence, with a one-year probationary period being established.
