On the highway, a Hyundai fatally struck a 30-year-old pedestrian: the driver faces up to 8 years
The deceased was crossing the roadway outside a crosswalk; the police are asking witnesses to come forward
On Tuesday evening, June 9, at about 20:05 on highway N-24 «Blahovishchenske–Mykolaiv» near the village of Sebyne in the Mykolaiv district a fatal collision occurred: a Hyundai Accent struck a 30-year-old pedestrian.
According to preliminary information from the investigation, the 55-year-old driver hit a man who was crossing the roadway at a place not designated for crossing, as a result of which the pedestrian died at the scene from his injuries.
The incident has been provisionally classified under part 2 of article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the sanction of which provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to eight years.
Law enforcement is currently establishing all the circumstances and causes of the accident.
