One road crossing — and a hospital: in Mykolaiv, a Geely hit a 37-year-old man
Another pedestrian struck by a vehicle: police investigate a crash involving an injured man
In Mykolaiv, the police are establishing the circumstances of a road traffic accident in which a pedestrian was injured. The accident occurred on 8 June 2026 in the area of No. 22 on Oleksa Almazov Street. This was reported by the Mykolaiv region police.
According to preliminary information from law enforcement, a 30-year-old driver of a Geely Emgrand struck a 37-year-old man who was crossing the roadway. The police note that the pedestrian, preliminarily, was crossing the road at a place not designated for a pedestrian crossing. As a result of the crash the man sustained bodily injuries. Medical staff hospitalized the victim. After examination, doctors determined that the victim’s injuries are of moderate severity. The man is receiving outpatient treatment.
Investigators have preliminarily qualified the incident under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of traffic safety rules or the operation of transport by persons who drive vehicles. The sanction of the article provides for punishment of up to three years of restriction of liberty. Currently law enforcement are clarifying all the circumstances of the accident.
The Transport Crime Investigation Department of the investigative directorate appeals to citizens who have any information about the circumstances of this crash. Witnesses are asked to call the numbers: 063-785-04-20 or 102.
