During January–May 2026, local budgets of Mykolaiv Oblast were supplemented by nearly 18.2 million hryvnias from fees for licenses for the production and circulation of excise goods, the Department for Control over Excise Goods of the Main Department of the State Tax Service in Mykolaiv Oblast reported.
The tax service clarifies that these are licenses for the production of cognac spirit and alcoholic beverages, as well as for the right to wholesale and retail trade in alcohol, tobacco products, e-liquids for electronic cigarettes and fuel.
Compared with the same period last year, these receipts increased by nearly 1.1 million hryvnias, which corresponds to a growth of 6.4%.
During the first 5 months of the current year, 1178 licenses were issued in the region: of these, 919 were for retail trade in alcoholic beverages, tobacco products and e-liquids for electronic cigarettes, 229 for fuel storage, 26 for retail fuel trade and 4 for wholesale fuel trade.
At the same time, the tax service is strengthening oversight of compliance with the rules governing the circulation of excise goods: during the reporting period 1063 licenses for wholesale and retail trade in alcohol, tobacco products, electronic cigarettes and fuel were revoked.
The State Tax Service emphasizes that the licensing mechanism remains an important tool for controlling the excise goods market and a significant source of local budget revenues.
