A modern interactive audio guide has been created in the national nature park Buzkyi Gard, combining tourism, conservation and environmental-education directions. The project aims to popularize Ukraine’s natural heritage, unique steppe ecosystems and make encounters with nature more accessible to all visitors.

The development of the audio guide was made possible within the framework of the European Union program’s international project CoNaturLIFE Ukraine – Conservation of Natural Heritage for Life in Ukraine, initiated by the Czech Agency for Nature Conservation. In Ukraine, the project was implemented with the participation of the Ukrainian Conservation Group.

The audio guide is dedicated to the steppe territories within the park and allows visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the area’s natural, historical and cultural value. For this purpose, specialists developed a separate route, prepared textual materials, created an English version of the website pages, recorded professional voiceovers and updated the NNP’s digital infrastructure.

The project authors placed special emphasis on accessibility. Thanks to the audio format, information has become more accessible to people with visual impairments, people with reduced mobility and users who prefer to receive material by listening. Special information posts with QR codes have already been installed along the route. Using a smartphone, visitors can quickly open audio materials and listen to information directly during their visit to the park.

You can also explore the audio guide on the park’s official website: Buzkyi Gard NNP audio guide

It is expected that the introduction of this digital solution will help develop sustainable tourism in the region, increase the tourist appeal of the Mykolaiv region and contribute to the promotion of the Ukrainian steppe.

The project involved the Ukrainian Conservation Group, the Nature Fund of Ukraine, staff of the Buzkyi Gard NNP, Serhii Pidmohylnyi and Doctor of Biological Sciences Anna Kuzemko. The texts were voiced by Dmytro Pohrebniuk, and the website update was provided by Sitegist together with park staff.
