Not a quad, but a stripped-down tank: Ukrainians built an off-road monster
Serial deliveries have already begun; the vehicle has all-wheel drive with locking differentials, a snorkel, a 1.6‑ton winch, and a kit for evacuating the wounded
Ukrainian company Ground Force has launched serial production of the armored combat quad ATC Nord 1000 for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine; the first batches have already been delivered to units.
The launch of the series and deliveries was reported by the specialized publication Defence Express, noting that the vehicle was designed taking into account the experience of the war and the wishes of the military and received armored protection for key components, including the engine, variator and radiator, which is intended to withstand damage from fragments and blasts from anti-personnel mines.
Powerplant — a four-stroke V-shaped two-cylinder engine with a displacement of 976 cc, producing 92 hp and 95 Nm of torque; fuel injection system — Bosch.
The quad weighs about 460 kg, is designed for two people, and has a payload capacity of up to 336 kg.
Off-road capability is provided by all-wheel drive with a lockable front differential, adjustable suspension and electric power steering; for off-road terrain it is fitted with wide tires on steel rims.
For fording, it is equipped with a snorkel and a high-mounted radiator, as well as a winch with a pulling capacity of up to 1600 kg.
The base configuration includes LED headlights, a digital instrument panel, a USB port and a 12 V socket.
